My Experiences of Spiritual Family

Grandma and Baby William
As I have indicated in other writings, essential to understanding my journey into spiritual rodding is the special place that not only Pat’s Grandma and her spirit but also our stillborn grandson, Baby William, and his spirit have in my and Pat’s living family, currently including ourselves, four adult children and their spouses, and seven grandchildren. Included in those writings is this from one of my spiritual rodding engagements in Baby William’s Memorial Garden:
Q. Does our love for Baby William contribute somehow to his spiritual self developing and growing?
R. Yes.
More Spiritual Family Experiences
After my first experience of spellings from Baby William’s spirit, his rod repeated the spelling, I AM BABY WILLIAM, on a number of occasions. My early impression was that, much like a child’s fascination with first words spoken, Baby William’s spirit was learning and practicing the use of Grandma’s alphabet through repetition. Following these continuing experiences of I AM BABY WILLIAM spellings, I typically tell him how much I love him and how proud I am of how he is developing and growing as a spiritual self. Then I “hug” him in a spiritually symbolic sense. I cannot describe in words the loving bond I feel at these times. During one such engagement, after confirming the appropriateness of my questions, I asked through the rods:
Q. Do some individual spirits have a potential somehow to develop and grow spiritually?
R. Yes.
Q. Does my ongoing conscious connection with Baby William’s spirit through rodding engagements in some way contribute to Baby William’s spiritual development and growth?
R. Yes.
On another occasion, when Baby William’s rod began moving spontaneously from pointing toward my heart, I assumed that his spirit was going to spell again I AM BABY WILLIAM. But, the rod stopped at the letter W position and not the letter I position. Wondering whether Baby William’s spirit had become confused and omitted the words I AM BABY…, I watched with surprise as the rod, continuing to move, spelled only WILLIAM and then returned to pointing toward my heart. With an inkling that Baby William’s spirit was spelling my name instead of his, I said: “Yes Baby William I am William too.”
On another occasion, Baby William’s rod spontaneously moved from pointing toward my heart and unexpectedly spelled LOVE before returning to the same stopped position pointing toward my heart. Wanting to confirm what my heart was telling me, I asked through the rods:
Q. Is this Baby William’s spirit spelling that he loves me?
R. Yes.
Q. Really?
R. Yes.
Q. Is it appropriate to ask Baby William’s spirit to confirm this by repeating what I saw?
R. Yes.
Spellbound, I watched Baby William’s rod again move, spell LOVE, and stop pointing toward my heart. Choked with emotion, I responded, “Yes Baby William I love you too very much!”
My Conscious Communications Within Spiritual Family
At the outset, my experiences of communications with Grandma’s and Baby William’s spirits during my rodding engagements were inter-dimensional between human and spiritual domains, that is, between me in this human domain and their spirits in a spiritual domain. Since then I have been blessed to have continuing rodding communications with their spirits, some of which are spontaneous spelling communications not initiated by me. During one of my spiritual rodding engagements in the summer of 2008, I experienced a distinctly different kind of spiritual family communication: Intra-dimensional conscious communications within a spiritual domain between family-related individual spirits, that is, not with me but between those spirits in their spiritual domain.
In all my spiritual rodding engagements I seek to be open, without expectation, to spontaneous spiritually sourced spellings. When one occurs, I pause wherever I am in my personal mantra or other part of my rodding engagement and watch attentively. When the source is Baby William’s or Grandma’s spirit, I often lovingly communicate to them my appreciation and honor for our relationship and all they contribute to me, Pat, and others in our families, and I usually embrace them with what I consider to be a kind of spiritual hug.
Early on in one of my spiritual rodding engagements in Baby William’s Memorial Garden, both rods spontaneously rotated in sync seven times and stopped, with the left rod pointing toward Baby William’s, and the right rod toward Grandma’s, designated positions in the Garden. When I completed my usual acknowledgement and spiritual hug with each, Baby William’s rod spelled:
I L O V E [his rod rotated seven times and continued spelling] Y O U
Then Grandma’s rod, to my utter surprise, spelled:
Y O U A R E S P E C I A L
As I watched these spellings I assumed the “YOU” in both spellings referred to me. I assumed this even though, on prior occasions when Baby William’s spirit communicated love to me through his rod, I had never seen his rod rotate, as it did this time, between LOVE and YOU. And, I assumed this even though I was more than unclear, more than uncomfortable, more like “thrown,” by Grandma’s spirit seemingly referring to me as SPECIAL. With this assumptive quandary, and without much of a sense of direction, I began to explore this matter by asking:
Q. Is this specialness related to openness and willingness to explore and pursue spiritually sourced spelling communications?
R. Yes.
Q. Do others in my and Pat’s family have potential to engage with spiritually sourced relational communication?
R. Yes.
Q. With Grandma’s and Baby William’s spirits?
R. Yes.
Q. And with my and Pat’s spirits after death of our human bodies?
R. Yes.
Q. May I appropriately pursue this matter over time?
R. Yes.
Prudently, I sought Pat’s reliable counsel relative not only to her bonded connection with Grandma’s and Baby William’s spirits, but also to her sound relational perspectives in general. During our discussion, Pat had the insight (which I believe to have been in-spirit-ed on her part) to suggest the possibility that, instead of communications from Baby William’s and Grandma’s spirits to me, these communications may have been to each other’s spirit. Immediately, this resonated with me. Baby William’s spirit could have been expressing his love to Grandma’s spirit. Her spirit could have been nurturing, in a grandparenting sense, Baby William’s spirit to continue to develop and grow through this communication within their spiritual domain: YOU (Baby William’s spirit) ARE SPECIAL. Pat noted that this is the kind of thing Grandma might well say to a grandson (actually, a great-great-grandson). From prior rodding engagements, it is my understanding that Baby William’s spirit has the potential somehow in a spiritual domain to develop and grow, and that our family’s love for his spirit and the place his spirit holds in our family, communicated individually and collectively, in some way contributes to that spiritual process. That such a communication from Grandma’s spirit could in some way contribute to continuing development and growth of Baby William as a spiritual being is harmonic with those prior rodding engagements.
During supplemental engagements in Baby William’s Memorial Garden, I confirmed through the rods the spiritual soundness and accuracy of Pat’s insight and pursued this matter further:
Q. Was Baby William spirit’s communication I LOVE YOU with the rod rotating after LOVE made to Grandma’s spirit?
R. Yes.
Q. Was Grandma spirit’s communication YOU ARE SPECIAL made to Baby William’s spirit?
R. Yes.
Q. Is this communication in some way a nurturing contribution toward development and growth of Baby William’s spirit?
R. Yes.
Q. Is there something for me to learn from these communications between Baby William’s and Grandma’s spirits being made known to me during my rodding engagement?
R. Yes.
Q. Am I to learn that within a spiritual domain conscious communication exists among some individual spirits related as family?
R. Yes.
Q. Following the deaths of my and Pat’s human bodies is it possible for our spirits to communicate consciously with Baby William’s and Grandma’s spirits?
R. Yes.
Q. And possible for the spirits of other members of our family after the deaths of their human bodies to communicate consciously with us and with Baby William’s and Grandma’s spirits?
R. Yes.
Q. Does conscious communication exist among all individual spirits who are related as family?
R. No.
Q. Is conscious communication among family related individual spirits associated with choices made during their human lives?
R. Yes.
Q. Does conscious communication exist among some individual spirits who are related in ways other than as family?
R. Yes.
Q. Is conscious communication among some individual spirits not related as family associated with choices made during their human lives?
R. Yes.
Q. Were the communications I experienced between Baby William’s and Grandma’s spirits as real in a spiritual domain as our family communications in the human domain?
R. Yes.
Q. Is my understanding in this engagement spiritually sound and valid as to conscious communications in a spiritual domain among some family members?
R. Yes.
Q. May I appropriately continue to pursue this matter over time?
R. Yes.
For the blessing of this extraordinary experience of conscious communications within spiritual family, I am thankful with my entire being and whole life to the All of All.
More Experiences of Family in a Spiritual Domain
Follow-on to my spiritual rodding relating to conscious communications among individualized spirits within a spiritual domain, I have over a span of engagements confirmed the following as spiritually sound relative to my own experience of spiritual family:
Family/family is a universal phenomenon of conscious connection and conscious communication within the Cosmos/cosmos ─ in a sense comparable within a spiritual domain to what our family experiences in the human domain.
In this and other writings I use “Family/family” and “Cosmos/cosmos” to express a relationally connected continuum (represented by “/”) between Family and Cosmos in a spiritual domain and family and cosmos in the human domain.
Representative of my experiences of inquiries relating to spiritual family (some of which have come from symbiotic conversations between Pat and me), and responses through my rods, are these:
Q. Does Grandma’s spiritual beingness exist only so long as Pat’s human self maintains her loving conscious connection and conscious communication with Grandma’s spirit?
R. No.
Q. Does this loving conscious connection and conscious communication in some way contribute to and enhance Grandma’s spiritual beingness?
R. Yes.
Q. In some unfolding and developmental way?
R. Yes.
Q. Is this unfoldment and development of Grandma’s spiritual beingness related in some way to family?
R. Yes.
Q. To loving family connection and communication?
R. Yes.
Q. Does this kind of loving family connection and communication in a sense exist within the spiritual domain as well as in the human domain?
R. Yes.
Q. In a real and comparable sense?
R. Yes.
Q. Can spiritual beings who had loving human family connections and communications in the human domain contribute in a spiritual domain to spiritual beingness of their family members?
R. Yes.
Q. As an unfolding and developmental family phenomenon within the spiritual domain?
R. Yes.
Q. Is this spiritual family phenomenon real?
R. Yes.
Q. As real as comparable family phenomenon in the human domain?
R. Yes.
Q. Does loving participation in family connections and communications in the human domain contribute to a comparable family phenomenon within the spiritual domain?
R. Yes.
Q. Am I just making this up on my own?
R. No.
Q. Is this human and spiritual family phenomenon real?
R. Yes.
Q. Really?
R. Yes.
Namaste Amen.
Wanting to assure as much as I am appropriately able that all this is spiritually sound and relationally appropriate, I subsequently confirmed during a spiritual rodding engagement my experience and understanding of these questions and responses by re-asking the questions and affirming that the responses remained the same. In my entry-mantra to do so, I expressed openness, as distinguished from request, to any confirming spontaneous spelling that might be appropriate. As I reached:
Family/family is a universal phenomenon of conscious connection and conscious communication within the Cosmos/cosmos ─ in a sense comparable within in a spiritual domain to what our family experiences in the human domain.
both rods spontaneously moved and simultaneously spelled, each rod the same:
left rod: right rod:
F A M I L Y F A M I L Y
C O S M O S C O S M O S
Q. Do these movements validate that Family/family is a universal phenomenon of conscious connection and conscious communication within the Cosmos/cosmos ─ in a sense comparable within a spiritual domain to what our family experiences in the human domain?
After the rods again moved spontaneously, rotating seven times in sync, the response was:
R. Yes.
Given these spellings and movements, and grounded in previous experiences during my spiritual rodding journey, I asked reverently:
Q. Are these spellings and movements sourced from the All of All?
R. Yes.
Thanks be to the All of All.
Namaste Amen.
Human Life as Preparatory for Spiritual Beingness
Pat has her own spiritual connection and communication with the spiritual domain that is not rodding oriented. From early on in her childhood, she has had an abiding sense that she is a “child of God.” During her formative years, spiritually and otherwise, she had not only a Catholic focused devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary, but also an especially close relationship with her maternal grandmother, who sourced the spiritual rodding alphabet that has become my means of spiritual communication.
While Pat and I were at our family mountain home in Colorado in early 2010, she had an “insight” considered by both of us to be inspired: That human life is a spiritual preparation for the beginning of spiritual life beyond human death. To us, this insight enables a shift from viewing one’s human death, not as an ending, but as a beginning, to one’s potential life beyond human death. Intrigued by this, during my next spiritual rodding engagement, I asked inquisitively through my rods:
Q. Is human life a preparation for spiritual life beyond human death?
R. Yes.
Q. Is this spiritually sound?
R. Yes.
Q. Is it spiritually sound to view one’s human life more as preparatory for a beginning of individual spiritual beingness than as an ending by death of one’s human life?
R. Yes.
Q. Is spiritual beingness a spiritually sound concept in this context?
R. Yes.
Q. Was Pat inspired to have this spiritual insight?
R. Yes.
Q. Was a source of this spiritual insight to Pat her Grandma’s spirit?
R. Yes.
Q. Was a source of this spiritual insight to Pat also the blessed Mother Mary?
R. Yes.
Q. Was there another individual spirit who was a source of this spiritual insight to Pat?
R. No.
Q. Was this spiritual insight sourced to Pat from the All of All?
R. Yes.
Q. In the same spiritual sense as Pat’s insight, is human family life preparatory for spiritual family life?
R. Yes.
My experiences of human life aspreparatory for spiritual beingness are harmonic with my experiences of human and spiritual families consciously connected and consciously communicating within and between human and spiritual domains.
