Our Family’s First Experience of Spiritual Rodding
In our previous post, we shared how we first learned of spiritual rodding from our mentor, John Shields. In this post, we share our family’s first experience with spiritual rodding for ourselves.
After hearing of John’s experiences, Will requested that John send us a pair of dowsing rods as a gift to Pat (his wife). Will thought that she might well choose at some time to try her hand at rodding. Instead, the initial experience with these rods turned out to be his.
In mid-January, 2006, Will awoke around 3 or 4 A.M. with a strong thought to get up and try to use the rods. So, he went into Pat’s study, and without turning on any light or knowing where Mom had put the rods, he was able to go straight to the rods and pick them up. Remembering that John began his rodding with several questions:
Will: “Am I ready to use these rods?” No response/movement
When he tried again, there was a non-response, without any movement of either rod. After thinking about it, he decided to prayerfully address the All of All, a term he used for the Divine and as well as Baby William’s spirit (his stillborn grandson who we consider the family’s guardian angel). He sensed a strong tingling-like sensation in his hands. Both rods suddenly and simultaneously began to rotate randomly. He sensed that the movement was spiritually sourced. So, he was inspired:
Will: Is Baby William’s spirit present to me? … YES
Unclear whether or how to proceed, he thanked intuitively both the All of All and Baby William’s spirit, put the rods down, and returned to the bedroom. But, before he could get back in bed, it occurred to him to ask an appropriate question that might elicit a No response? So, he turned around, reentered the study, picked the rods up, and asked:
Will: Should I ask a question seeking a no-answer as a test? No response/movement
Puzzling over this non-response, he had an insight that he “should not” ask a “should” question whether as a test question or otherwise. So, he asked:
Will: Is Baby William’s spirit present to me all the time? … NO
Gratefully repeating his thanks to the All of All and Baby William’s spirit, he considered myself ready to put the rods away. Before he could do so, His attention was drawn to the following movements:
Left rod spun and stopped pointed directly toward his heart.
When he recounted this wondrous spiritual rodding experience to Mom, she asked, “What do you make of this?” Mindful of some of John’s spiritual rodding experiences, Dad replied, “I make of this a spiritual conscious connection between me and Baby William’s spirit.”
During his follow-on rodding engagements, Will affirmed all this was what he experienced during his initial spiritual rodding. Over the next several months, he “tiptoed” into initiating his own rodding engagements ─ not anticipating the spiritually enriching experiences to be unfolded along his and our rodding journeys. More to come in our next post.
